The five Strategic Commercial Enhancements (SCE) contracts will allow NRO to study imagery and techniques used by the companies, which include novel ways of processing images to increase their fidelity and resolution.

Once Brussels joins the program, details about the role it will play at both a funding and an industrial level are expected to be shared.
“We are thinking about the [A330]neo, it’s a very natural evolution of our [tanker] solution,” said Maria Angeles Marti, Head of Tanker and Derivatives at Airbus Defence and Space.
Michael Schoellhorn, Airbus Defence and Space CEO, called on lawmakers to “make a fundamental decision” on the procurement of Eurofighter Typhoon Tranche 5 jets by the end of Germany’s current legislative period.
“It feels a little like the uncertainty around COVID, but no companies are pulling out,” Eric Fanning, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Aerospace Industries Association, told Breaking Defense.

Airbus already holds a contract valued at more than £500 million ($610 million) for SKYNET 6A, a future military communications satellite planned for launch in 2025 and based on the manufacturer’s Eurostar Neo telecommunications satellite platform.
